Fuel Tanks

Bunded fuel tank hire from 500 to 10,000 litres, for temporary fuel storage on commercial and industrial sites, including environmentally friendly, NATO and UN-approved WesternGlobal TransCube tanks.

Portable diesel storage tanks feed temporary boilers, chillers, generators, and fuel fired heating systems on site.

All our fuel tanks are 110% bunded, steel in steel, to comply with UK oil storage regulations. Suitable for diesel, gas oil and hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO).

Fuel tanks can be specified as part of a wider temporary HVAC package, with fuel management and remote telemetry available. Managed top-ups and emergency refuelling keep your operations running smoothly. All fuel tanks can be delivered and positioned on sites nationwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, get in touch and we will be happy to help.

What size fuel tank do I need?

Tank size depends on the equipment being supplied or already onsite, its fuel consumption rate, runtime and how frequently the tank can be refilled. Site space and access also need consideration.

Our team can calculate the appropriate tank capacity as part of the temporary hire specification.

What types of bunded tanks can I hire?

We offer Western Global TransCube and DyMac AceCube Versatile tanks, from 500 to 10,000 litres. All are steel-in-steel construction and 110% bunded, featuring lockable cabinets and ports to feed up to three equipment sources.

What site access is required for a temporary fuel tank?

Access requirements depend on the size of tank, delivery vehicle and where the tank will be positioned. The site must provide suitable access for safe delivery, positioning and future refuelling. Restricted access, lifting requirements and final tank location should be discussed when specifying the hire.

Can your fuel tanks be moved around site?

Selected Western Global TransCube tanks are designed to be transportable when full. This does not apply to every tank in the hire our range, so the tank specification and approved lifting or transport method must be checked before moving it.

What is a bunded fuel tank?

A bunded fuel tank has an inner tank for storing fuel and a secondary outer layer designed to contain leaks or spills. Bunded tanks help sites meet environmental and fuel storage requirements, while reducing the risk of fuel contaminating the surrounding ground or drainage systems.

What fuels can I store in a bunded fuel tank?

Diesel, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO), and gas oil (only at hospitals and public buildings). The tanks are not suitable for petrol, LPG or AdBlue.

Are fuel tanks secure against fuel theft?

Yes. Pumps, hoses and ports sit inside a lockable steel cabinet. Plant draws fuel while the cabinet stays locked.

Can fuel management be included?

Yes. Fuel management and remote telemetry can be included as part of the wider HVAC hire solution.

How does the remote fuel telemetry work?

A sensor in the tank reports fuel levels in real time. Alerts trigger before stock levels run low, so a top-up can be booked in time. No site visits are needed to check fuel levels.

Who tops up the tank?

Working alongside reputable supplier partners, across the UK, we can organise scheduled top-ups to keep the tank full, and emergency refueling to cover sudden demand.
