Heater Hire

Our heater hire range covers temporary space heating for commercial and industrial environments, from localised heating to larger spaces and temporary structures. Cross Rental Services supplies electric heaters plus direct and indirect-fired gas and oil heating equipment, allowing the system to be matched to the site and application. Ducting, thermostats and compatible fuel storage can be included where required. For planned works, seasonal demand, events or unexpected heating failures, suitable equipment and ancillaries can be specified for the site and application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, get in touch and we will be happy to help.

What types of heaters can I hire?

We supply electric, direct-fired and indirect-fired heaters for commercial, industrial, construction and event applications. Equipment can be selected to suit the space, available power, ventilation and heating requirements, with ducting, thermostats and fuel storage available where needed.

What is the difference between direct-fired and indirect-fired heaters?

Direct-fired heaters release combustion products into the heated air and require suitable ventilation. Indirect-fired heaters use a heat exchanger to separate combustion gases from the warm air supply, making them suitable for applications where clean heated air is required, including marquees and occupied spaces.

Can temporary heaters be used to dry out buildings during construction?

Yes. Temporary heating can support construction drying, including screeds, plasterwork and other wet trades, helping contractors manage drying conditions and keep projects moving. Electric and indirect-fired heaters can be used alongside dehumidifiers and air movement equipment where appropriate.

Can heater hire help with flood recovery and building restoration?

Yes. Temporary heaters can support controlled drying following flooding, water damage or moisture ingress. For older buildings and sensitive properties, heating may be combined with dehumidification and ventilation to manage temperature and humidity without exposing materials to unnecessary heat.

Can you heat marquees and temporary event structures?

Yes. Large indirect-fired heaters can provide warm air for marquees, temporary structures and event spaces. Heated air is distributed through ducting, allowing the heating equipment to remain outside the occupied area. Systems can be configured around the structure, event duration and expected weather conditions.

Can temporary heaters distribute warm air across large commercial and industrial spaces?

Yes. High-capacity indirect-fired heaters can be connected to flexible ducting to distribute warm air across large areas, including warehouses, factories, construction sites and temporary buildings. Ducting can be configured to direct heat into specific zones or areas that are difficult to reach, providing more effective heat distribution throughout the space.

Can heaters be supplied with ducting, fuel tanks and other equipment?

Yes. Heater hire can include compatible ducting, thermostats, fuel tanks and ancillary equipment. Where required, fuel management and refuelling can also be arranged to support longer hire periods.
